Module Coding, Programming & Calibration
Modern vehicles are run by a network of control modules that talk to each other constantly. The Engine Control Module (ECM) manages fuelling, ignition timing, boost and emissions; the Transmission Control Module (TCM) governs shift points, clutch engagement and torque delivery; and ADAS — Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — uses cameras, radar and sensors to run features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, parking sensors and autonomous emergency braking. When one of these modules is replaced, repaired or reset, it very rarely works straight out of the box. It must be coded and programmed to your vehicle's exact specification, VIN, and options list before the car will drive and protect you as the manufacturer intended.
